Lanez threw some 'bows' at a group of 'fans'
Tory Lanez is no stranger to a wild crowd. The Toronto-based musician loves to spend entire chunks of his set among his fans and occasionally performs entire shows from atop the hands and heads of a crowd.
Things got a little too real at a recent performance at York University though. When fans rushed the singer, he fought back and threw elbows into a chaotic and confused crowd. In a set of two videos, we can see fans rush Tory and then the aftermath where security gang up to protect the star.
Lanez has yet to comment on the fight, and it’s doubtful he will as he just released a sexy new single called “Skrt Skrt.” Throwing elbows is the exact opposite of the vibe he’s trying to put out into the world right now as he tries to convince the world to buy his grown-folk music.
Lanez has been on a positive wave recently, even ending his long-time beef with fellow Canadian Drake. Reportedly, all it took was a phone call for the musicians to dissipate their bad blood. Lanez told Complex that he’s happy to put the beef in the past so that he can focus on the music.
“It’s about music at this point,” he said. “That was between me and him, I think for it to happen the way it happened it was meant to happen that way. And for whatever the reasons around it were, it’s between me and him.”
On that tip, Lanez has a lot to be happy about. He’s at a point in his career where he can throw down $35K just to prove a point. Lanez recently flexed on a high-end retail employee who tried to give him the brush-off based on his appearance.
After the fact, Lanez said that the money was going to be spent either way in an interview. He will admit that he was happy to teach the rude employee a lesson about judging people.
“We were going to the store to spend $35K regardless,” he said. “It wasn’t that we spent money to get at him, because of course the store is still going to get the bread, we gave the store credit to somebody else, so the $35K went to somebody else. That’s why I filmed him on camera, I was like, you should’ve gotten the business, but next time maybe you’ll think twice before you look at somebody based off their appearance and how they look.”

Check out the video up top. What do you think? Who goes to a show just to rush the musician playing?
Who goes to a Tory Lanez show to fight period? Are there people out there listening to “Say It” and getting ready to scrap? Does “LUV” make people want to bust heads?
Maybe Canadians do things differently. Are there whole squads of goons in the Great White North getting active to R&B slow jams? Does Lenny Williams have the same effect on a Toronto club as Crime Mobb would in Memphis? The mind reels.
