The 28-year-old Demetrius Shipp Jr. did a great job playing Tupac in the movie, and he looked incredibly similar to the legendary rapper. The voice may have been a little bit off, but if someone looked and sounded exactly like Tupac, we’d know about them by now.
Some fans loved the selection, but others didn’t think he was up to par with his acting. Regardless, some fans will be surprised when they find out that Young Buck was actually being considered for the job…
Young Buck sat down for an interview recently, and he had some interesting things to say.
“You know, people don’t know this but I was supposed to play Pac. That’s what makes your show exclusive. You know, I was supposed to play Tupac Shakur. I didn’t get as far as going and reading the scripts and things to that nature but I actually was lined up on one of those guys that was I guess considered to play Tuapc,” he said.
After being asked if he did the auditions, he finished up with, “No I didn’t do an… I was told that I was already given the role without the audition… until Pac himself came along.”
