Happily Ever After
Over the weekend, songstress LeToya Luckett and her entrepreneur-fiancé Tommicus Walker jumped the broom under the Texas stars… Though, (no surprise) nothing shined brighter than the “Not Anymore” singer. Respectively wearing a custom made Vera Wang gown and a Tom Ford jacket and pants, the couple threw a lavish wedding, heading into the new year as husband and wife.
Held at Villa Antonia — a gorgeous mansion in Texas Hill Country’s canyons — the Austin wedding was a black tie affair, with a white, black, and dark red color theme. Even Luckett’s bridal party wore long, sleek black gowns.
The star-studded ceremony was held Sunday evening (Dec. 10, 2017). Pastor John Gray — star of OWN’s The Book of John Gray — not only attended but also officiated the couple’s wedding ceremony. “When We” signer Tank attended the wedding after he sang “At Last” as Luckett walked down the aisle. Unspoken Angel: My Story Through Her Eyes author Eudoxie Bridges — who is Luckett’s best friend and Ludacris’ wife — was one of the matrons-of-honor. Bridges was, of course, accompanied by her rapper husband.
Aside from Luda and Eudoxie, Luckett’s former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Latavia Roberson also showed up along with Michelle Williams.
Forever & Always
Luckett’s ride into the sunset towards happily ever after is a long time coming. Surely, this marriage will be a better fit than her marriage of two months to motivational speaker Rob Hill Sr.
In fact — during an episode of The Book of John Gray — Pastor Gray prophesied that Luckett’s search for a life partner would soon come to an end. Gray was right. Following Luckett’s appearance on the show, her friend Nikki Chu set her up with her then-boyfriend’s brother… Tommicus Walker.
Though the connection between herself and her now-husband was strong from the very beginning, the star kept the relationship to herself at first. Wanting to give the bond space to really grow, she didn’t let the world know about her love affair until after Walker proposed.
“I felt that it was important to get to know each other without any distractions or any he-said she-said,” Luckett shared during an interview with Essence. “I wanted to do something different with this relationship because I felt something different about him.”
Without Walker knowing her full name or ever seeing her in person, the two talked for weeks. Luckett says their conversations were deeply faith based. In no time, they were “praying together on the phone and reading scriptures.”
Even after Walker flew to LA (with his daughter) to meet Luckett for the first time… He still didn’t recognize her. Though, she didn’t let things go on too much longer before she revealed her true identity to him.
“Then he said to me, ‘None of that matters because I’ve gotten to know you and to see your heart and that’s what I’m into, and so that doesn’t change nothing we got going on right now,'” Luckett shared.
Walker and Luckett dated a little longer before the Dallas native popped the question on his own birthday. Surrounded by Luckett’s family and friends, he asked the singer to be Mrs. Walker.
“I’m still overjoyed and bouncing off the walls,” she said after the engagement. “It’s hard to put into words exactly how I’m feeling right now. It’s just joy – straight up joy.”
According to the plethora of social media videos, the event was a blast. The couple danced and celebrated in the midst of their closet friends and loved ones all night.
Of course, directly following the wedding the couple jetted off to spend time in the lap of luxury on their honeymoon. Details of their trip have been kept under lock and key though, so that they can enjoy their first weeks as husband and wife privately.
