But are they real?
Much like his bedroom, what goes down in a man’s DMs is nobody’s business but his own. That goes out the window if you’re a known name though. Unfortunately, it seems like DJ Envy learned this the hard way (and we do mean hard).
Someone posted a conversation that seemed to out him as both a cheater and a man who likes to be pegged. The radio host addressed the salacious snaps on The Breakfast Club, saying that they’re entirely fabricated. Still, his fellow hosts weren’t willing to let him go without a little bit of razzing.
“Let’s find out who’s being cyberbullied,” said Envy. “I would prefer you to say digitally penetrated,” said Charlamagne.
Angela Yee stuck up for Envy a little bit. “Envy did tell me somebody had been harassing him and hitting up all these blogs,” said Yee. “[The Snap Chat] doesn’t say Sir Envy one.”
DJ Envy wasn’t having not one inch of it. “I’m not gonna entertain this bull crap that you’re spitting out Angela Yee, anybody can make anything appear,” said Envy. “I don’t like any of it! There’s nothing going in my butt. This is stupid.”
It’s not the first time that the idea of what people are doing with their private parts has come up on the show, but it’s decidedly less controversial than the last time anything to do with sex bubbled up.
Lil Duval made some transphobic comments on the air that generated so much heat it circled back to the hosts.
“Man don’t be asking me nothing like that. You ain’t finna put me in that… nope. I mean I don’t know,” Lil Duval said after the then-current topic of Trump’s transgender military ban came up. “Shout out to my sister, my gay ass sister. She doin her thing… She the first person that texted me about that like ‘Did you see that!?’ and I have to fake like I cared like ‘Oh! That’s crazy!’”
He went on to say that he would murder a trans woman if they slept together and he found out that she was trans afterwards.
“This might sound messed up, and I don’t care… She dyin. I can’t deal with that,” he responded. “You manipulated me to believe in this thing… my mind. I can’t… I can’t live with that bruh. I can’t.”
The heat got back to Charlamagne when a group of trans people shouted him down at a convention. “We are not a joke! Trans people are not a joke! Just the other day Charlamagne Tha God let Lil Duval talk about killing black trans women! We are not a joke!” they yelled.
Charlamagne refused to be painted with the same brush as Duval, however. He responded to the attacks on social media, saying that fans should go back and listen to the interview again.
“You might need to go watch the whole interview and not a 32 second clip,” the radio host said. “I didn’t sit back and laugh at all but nobody cares about the truth when the lie is more entertaining.”
