When you can't catch a break
I swear, it seems like no matter how much Chris Brown tries to stay on the straight and narrow, trouble always seems to surround him. The singer is now under fire for allegedly refusing to stand during the National Anthem sung by Tank at Power 106’s celebrity basketball game on 9/11. Chris, who was a player on one of the teams, was videoed by a fan who caught him sitting on the court. Later that evening, cameras also caught Chris getting into a verbal altercation with a few men. This news comes right after a random woman accused Chris of pointing a gun to her head. It was later revealed that she set him up. Now, this.
Before he sang the National Anthem, Tank asked everyone to stand in honor of those who lost their lives during 9/11.
“I understand everybody’s exercising their right to stand or sit and exercising their right to freedom and justice, but in the wake of 9/11, please understand the fact that real men, women, and children lost their lives for this very thing that we’re able to stand for today,” he said.
Chris, who was playing in the game, didn’t budge…
Chris Sits Out
Chris, who was sitting on the court floor, didn’t bother to honor Tank’s request. He stayed seated while another player stayed bent at the knees. The media immediately called CB out for refusing to stand. Fans took no time to give their two cents on how inappropriate his decision was. In true CB fashion, he had a couple of things to say himself…
Chris took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of the TMZ headline, “CHRIS BROWN REFUSES TO STAND FOR NATIONAL ANTHEM … ON 9/11.” He captioned the photo, “Stay classy!” He then posted this photo with the caption, “Dodging this bulls**t like.”
