It costs to be the boss
Cardi B came into hip-hop’s circle with a dollar and a dream. Gaining traction from her hilariously relatable social media videos then starring on Love & Hip Hop: New York, fans fell in love with the outspoken, larger-than-life “regular degular shmegular girl from the Bronx.”
From watching the New York native, there is one thing undeniably apparent about Cardi: She doesn’t take any foolishness. The young emcee speaks her mind at all costs, and she’ll call anyone out in a second if they deserve it.
What fans are learning now though is that Cardi will also retract a call-out, should someone deserve it.
While performing in France — because Cardi is international in these streets — the star’s security guard walked up behind her and pulled her skirt down. In response, the 25-year-old quickly turned around to stop her guard from touching her. Jerking away from him, Cardi yelled for her guard to “stop bruh.”
The video of the altercation shows the star’s skirt rising, but it does not look to be bothering her. While viewers can hear Cardi yelling for the guard to stop, his response to her can’t be made out over the tons of fans applauding.
After seemingly lashing out on her security detail, the “Lick” rapper defended him on Instagram.
Notes on the Gram
Most likely because her reaction came off a bit harsh, the “MotorSport” artist took time out shortly after the show to set the record straight. She let fans who were at the concert and spectators who only saw the video know that, regardless of what it looked like, her guard was just doing his job.
“Dear everybody my security was just trying to look out! My skirt kept rising up. I got upset is because he put so much force pulling it down I thought I would fall! I love the team of people I work with,” she wrote.
She captioned the note: “I had to let y’all know cause i don’t want people to think my security a asshole. He always looking out for me!”
Get it together
If her guard wasn’t on his p’s and q’s, she would have let him (and fans) know, like the time Cardi caught a hair stylist slippin’. The young star took to social media to vent about a stylist trying to overcharge her even though the stylist “didn’t even did work.”
She did not say the stylist’s name or tag her in the post, but Cardi did give her a piece of her mind. “I don’t really like when people try to finesse me. Like, don’t ever try to finesse me,” she began the videoed rant. The rapper proceeded to say that even though she did her hair herself the day before, she needed it pressed. So, she called the stylist, who Cardi says only lives 10 minutes away from her.

“Shorty just flat ironed my hair… didn’t glue my front on, didn’t style it. All she did was press my hair with a flat iron,” Cardi said in the clip. “Why shorty charged me 400 dollars to flat iron my hair?”
She then said that though she’s making good money after the success of “Bodak Yellow,” she’s still cheap and no one is going to try to “play” her. Cardi reportedly didn’t pay the steep price but instead let anyone who would try something similar know that they had better not. “I hate that shit. Ni–as better stop that s–t,” she said before ending the video.
