She might be on Santa's Naughty List now.
Cardi B just said “b**ch if you bad then jump” in her new single “Bartier Cardi,” and she meant it. So, when Dreamdoll’s stylist Khalil started dissing her friend, Cardi stepped it.
After Asiandadoll tweeted about Khalil (aka @thatssokhalil) having her legs wrapped around a security guard, Khalil posted a screenshot of the tweet on Instagram, captioning the picture, “You ready for me tor read u NOW or Later?” Instead of Asiandadoll responding, Cardi answered for her. “WE IN THE BRONX RIGHT NOW !!!!” she replied underneath the Instagram post.
Of course, this started a social media back and forth to end 2017 with a bang.
Real Cardi fans know that she won’t take any disrespect thrown towards herself or those close to her. So, no one was surprised to see her clap back for her friend.
Although, Khalil wasn’t too impressed with it. After Cardi commented under her IG post, Khalil questioned why a Grammy nominee would stoop so low. The personal stylist posted another picture on Instagram, quoting Cardi herself. “SHE SAID SHE GONE DO WHAT TO WHO?! LETS FIND OUT AND SEE,” the post read, alongside several crying emojis.
“SIS! YOU NOMINATED FOR TWO GRAMMYS …. Why you making me do this to you,” Khalil captioned the post. “PLEASE DON’T GET YA FAMILY INVOLVED… that didnt play out to well last time.”
In true Cardi fashion, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper held her ground. “You don’t know none of my family Nikkas out here lying for clout BYE. You was just rappin my lyrics,” she replied to the post. She then posted some receipts to shut Khalil all the way down.
The rapper posted a screenshot of what looks like Instagram direct messages from @thatssokhalil. The first message was dated Nov. 14, 2015. “Hey cardi! I’m interested in being your personal assistant,” @thatssokhalil wrote.
Cardi never responded.
Dated June 12, 2017, the second message read, “I really want to style you for the BET awards.”
Again, Cardi never responded. “How can i take you serious when you begging me for A job ?” Cardi captioned the post. “Watch your mouth nikka.”
Cardi Vs. the Barbz
Cardi isn’t worried about Khalil, just like she isn’t worried about Nicki Minaj’s fans coming for her on social media. This Christmas argument comes after Nicki’s Barbz called Cardi out for allegedly stealing Nicki’s style.
With two new music videos out — G-Eazy’s “No Limit” and Ozuna’s “La Modelo” — internet trolls were bound to find something wrong with Cardi and Nicki’s insistence that everything between them is fine. According to Team Minaj, Cardi is stealing her swag… down to the facial expressions.
Around the 1:50 mark of the “No Limit” music video — which was released this month (Dec. 20) — Cardi can be seen making the “opps!” face, an expression Minaj makes a lot.
Throughout “La Modelo” Cardi is wearing a bodysuit, which seems to be Nicki’s go to for most of her music videos. The star wore bodysuits in her “Anaconda” music video, her “No Frauds” music video, in Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up” music video, and in Lil Uzi’s “The Way Life Goes” music video… The list goes on and on.
Faced with these facts, Team Minaj hit social media, shaming Cardi for being less than original. To make matters worse, Nicki fueled them on, knowing the internet’s tendency to dramatize everything. “I’m glad y’all peeped,” the “Starships” artist tweeted.
Nicki fans and Cardi fans went back and forth, but Cardi never responded, cause she’s a boss like that.
