Is it actually him?
Cardi has been making headlines left and right for the past few weeks. Some of the news was good, and some of the news was like this…
The “Foreva” rapper is being sued over the cover of her mixtape Gangsta B*tch Music Vol. 1. Plaintiff Kevin Brophy says that Bardi never got his permission to use his image, especially not in the compromising position he’s in on the cover.
Brophy’s distinct back tattoo can be seen on the cover while he’s servicing Cardi, and he says it’s led to some awkward conversations. According to him, he only found out about the tape after a friend asked why he was “cunnilinging [sic] this rapper called Cardi B.”
He says his son has noticed the cover, too, and he won’t stop asking embarrassing questions.
According to TMZ, Brophy said he’s never met the rapper and that her camp never reached out for permission to use his image.
He’s suing for $5 million, but there’s one little snag in his case…
Caught in a Scam
It doesn’t seem like he’s the model on the cover, back ink or no.
In fact, Instagram personality The6atSix posted a video that shows pretty solid evidence that he is the man on the cover. In an angry video, he shared snippets of video that showed him hanging with Cardi as well as other shots from the same photo shoot that are clearly him and not Kevin Brophy.
“Who are you?” he shouted at the camera. “Who are you, though?”
He called Brophy a fraud in a caption for the rant:
“Whoever this f*ckin bum ass ‘Kevin Brophy’ is needs to find another way to finesse food for his kids. F*ckin lame ass n*gga. @iamcardib iunno if this shit is real but it’s all over the f*ckin internet right now. Tag Cardi, tag TMZ, tag Worldstar. This n*gga a FRAUD n I’m not sue’n cardi for sh*t. Lesson learned??? DONT TRY TO SUE PEOPLE WHEN YOU DONT KNOW WA GWAN!”
He had to admit that the money sounded good, even as he made fun of the man’s tearful story about his son. “5 mil sounds good though,” he said. “But I’m not a snake rat goof.”
Cardi doesn’t need these sorts of distractions right now. The world is still patiently waiting on a “Bodak Yellow” twin sister to blow their car speakers out, and she needs to focus on that.
We all need to put our arms up and lend her our energy like she’s about to drop a spirit bomb if we want her to get through all this mess and finally drop her debut album.
If you aren’t convinced that you need to be praying for Cardi to skate through all this, allow us to sweeten the pot. Word is her next album will have a single featuring the Queen herself. That’s right… There’s a Beyonce and Cardi B collaboration out their in the ether, and people like Kevin Brophy are trying to keep it from us by weighing down Bardi with frivolous lawsuits.
See the Proof
Check out The6atSix’s damning video up top. What do you think? Is Kevin Brophy legit? Is it possible that they superimposed the artwork from Brophy’s back onto The6atSix’s body? Or is this just a scammer who got too deep and ended up making a fool of himself? Sound off in the comments and don’t forget to SHARE this article.
