What’s going on with Shad Moss (a.k.a Bow Wow)? That’s what everyone is trying to figure out. The Growing Up Hip Hop star has been moving oddly lately, wishing he “never existed” and publicly threatening Jermaine Dupri.
The latter happened earlier today (March 26) on Twitter. Apparently Jermaine, who has had a lengthy professional and personal relationship with Moss, wasn’t giving the rapper the attention he needed, failing to answer the phone for him, so Moss took to social media to give the producer an incentive to answer his calls.
“Yo @jermainedupri if you dont answer my call, im going to tell the world that you and ________,” the “Outta My System” rapper tweeted. Jermaine didn’t reply — at least, not on the app — but the Twitter-verse did.
“What kinda bird are you?!” one Twitter user responded. “Lol are you sure you’re 31???” replied another. “Bow you out here ruining my childhood memories of liking you,” tweeted one fan. “Come on man, this looks childish.”
While the rapper never clarified whether or not his tactic worked, he did (or tried to) smooth everything over. About two hours later, Moss took to Twitter again, saying that he was only joking.
“Naw hahaha i be f**king w jd. He be big mad when i at him. He wasnt picking up the phone im tryna get this YEAAHH video together,” Moss said.
After the fact, it was assumably all laughs. “Not smart you all over shaderoom looking foolish stop it,” a fan tweeted. “Just wanted some Dame attention you and JD played out,” wrote another, alongside several laughing emojis.
However, some found it very odd that Moss would go to such lengths to get in contact with a close friend over a “this YEAAHH video.” Just two days ago, Moss cryptically vented about the way his life is going on Instagram.
“Sometimes i REALLY wish i never existed… i can never do S**T RIGHT EVEN WHEN IM DOING RIGHT! Im better off …..” the rapper captioned a post.
Social Media Downfalls
This incident comes close on the heels of him being dragged through social media. A video of Moss being punched in the face surfaced earlier this month, leading viewers to like, retweet and comment on the rapper’s embarrassing moment.
However, according to the “Shortie like Mine” artist, the video is about six months old and it “didn’t slide like that.” He swore on his six-year-old daughter, Shai Moss, that the clip didn’t accurately show what happened that fateful night.
“This ain’t no muthaf**kin Bow Wow Challenge. That s**t ain’t slide like that,” he said in an Instagram Live video.
In-between promising that the altercation wasn’t what it looked like and swearing on his kid, Moss referenced a female fan who was backstage at the time of the videoed-event. According to her tweets (dated November 2017), the night in question was a “long” but “litt” one.
“I didn’t catch the whole fight because I was surrounded by ppl. But he f**king buddy up with the chair cuz he was limping,” a Twitter user named @MissBrownEyez_ tweeted late last year. “Bow wow camp got that watch lol buddy came back looking for it.”
As for the video itself, it shows Moss being sucker-punched in the face by “Me Myself & I” rapper Cheeks Bossman. As Moss is walking with a crew of four or five, Bossman runs up on him. “Wassup with that Future s**t,” he says, getting in a good punch.
