It's about time
Cops have gotten a bad rap over the past few years, but there are reasons to back it up; this ordeal is one of them.
With all that’s going on in the world, police brutality may possibly be one of the worst. The ones sworn to protect are sometimes the ones feared the most. Police brutality may finally slow down, now that a Florida officer has been arrested for attempted manslaughter. It’s good to see some justice finally being served.
Unfortunately, we might always have corrupt cops, but maybe they’ll all get their Pepsi one day.
Officer Johnathan Aledda shot and wounded a man named Charles Kinsey, a behavioral therapist. At the time that Kinsey was shot, he was lying on his back with his hands in the air, begging the police not to shoot him.
Kinsey was lying next to Arnaldo Rios, an autistic man who was being supervised by Kinsey.
There were two other officers armed with rifles less than 20 feet from Kinsey; they said that they did not feel threatened at all. Meanwhile, Aledda was over 150 feet away.
Thankfully the whole thing was on video. It is painfully clear that the man was not posing a threat in any way, shape, or form.
This extremely questionable police shooting resulted in protests across the nation. The outcry for this man to be arrested was huge, and once you see watch the video for yourself, you’ll know why.
