Birdman wants 'Tha Carter V' to drop soon
Birdman says that Lil Wayne’s long-awaited fifth album Tha Carter V will drop sometime this year. The embattled mogul who has spent the last few years feuding with his former protege both in and out of a courtroom said that Wayne’s delayed project will see the light in a new interview with Rap-Up.
Although Lil Wayne is currently suing the mogul for failure to pay him $51 million in royalties, Birdman fully admitted that a huge chunk of his success came via Lil Wayne.
“He is the best ever to me,” he said. “A lot of success comes from under his umbrella.”
He went on to say that the album that has been held in limbo by their ongoing beef is coming soon.
“I think it’s gonna be the biggest album of 2018, one of them. Without a doubt. It’s gonna be well worth the wait,” he said.
He went on to compare Wayne to Tupac, an interesting position for someone who has been feuding with the rapper for quite a while. But maybe that’s just a way of saying that Weezy’s once-in-a-lifetime talent is so undeniable that even people who would have reason to hate can’t bring themselves to.
“You only have one Wayne and you only have one Tupac,” he said. “Tupac had 100 songs, before that we never knew of that s**t. Wayne had 100 features. That s**t is not normal in our business today. A n**ga might not want to hear two features from your a**. Let alone 100. Wayne had 100 No. 1s.”
The rhetoric marks a sharp turn from the the way he was talking just a few months ago. Birdman went off on all the people urging him to pay up and give Weezy his money.
“B**ch, Lil Wayne my son. I raised him. He ain’t have nothing. I brought him to be something and got something. B**ch, you don’t think I’m gonna make sure he straight? Suck a n**ga d**k, b**ch,” he said.
He added that everyone else needed to keep their noses out of his business, saying that there would be steep penalties for anyone who crossed him. He ranted:
“And if you cross my line, you already know — I ain’t even got to tell you. You know what type of n**ga I am and how I live. F**k you, n**ga. Tear you’re a** up playing with me and mine. F**k these old coward a*s, scary a** n**gas playing. They ain’t no gangstas — they don’t wanna see no murder. So you p**sy a** n**gas, stick to what you do, blood. Because y’all ain’t about this s**t at all.”

Back in the much nicer confines of his Rap-Up interview, Birdman turned his eyes toward Toni Braxton. The R&B singer married the rapper and CEO recently and he’s still in awe of her.
“She’s a legend,” he said. “She do her thing. She’s just prolific with that s**t. I think she’s a one-of-one and a very special talent in the music business.”
