Hear the Pain
To Anderson’s listeners, it may be no secret that he’s experienced some hard things. “You got pain in your voice. You got a story in your voice and when I hear it, it sounds like you, only you”, said Dr. Dre to Anderson.
In a recent interview with CBS News, Anderson discussed this comment made by Dr. Dre and opened up about some of his past.
The pain his listeners can “hear” in his music came from real-life situations, according to Anderson. He’s had a tough upbringing, dealing with different family issues throughout his childhood and adult life. It seems he’s no longer being shy about them; he wants to open up and let the public know what was going on.
When talking about his father, Anderson said: “He went from being there every day to I would only see him a few times a week, until the day I literally saw him on top of my mom really trying to take my mom’s life.”
According to Anderson .Paak, that was the last time he’s seen his father.
