It’s been two years since A$AP Rocky and the entire A$AP mob lost their co-founder and friend, A$AP Yams. On January 18, 2015, the 26-year-old died from an overdose. Rocky and his crew took the news pretty hard but continue to show tribute to their fallen crew member. Now, the Long. Live. ASAP. rapper lost another artist that has meant something to him. His producer James Laurence, half of the rap producing duo Friendzone, has died at 27 years old.
James Laurence, along with his partner, Dylan Reznick, made up the production duo Friendzone. They were a hip-hop based group out of L.A. They’ve produced for artists like Main Attrakionz, Antwon, Yung Lean, and more. But none of that would have happened if they hadn’t hooked up with Flacko.

Laurence and Reznick produced Rocky’s 2013 single, “Fashion Killa,” from his major label debut, Long. Live. ASAP. The video featured Rihanna and it was the duo’s first major label placement.
Their hazy sound soon came to be known as “cloud rap.” In 2015, the duo released an EP dedicated to ASAP Yams’ memory.
Cause of Death
Laurence’s cause of death has yet to be disclosed. However, last week, he went to Twitter telling fans that he wasn’t feeling well. On January 27, four days before his death, he tweeted: “got hit with a stomach bug last night and my babydoll @benicetosarah is coming over and taking care of me. i love her more than anything”
It was reported that he died on January 31. Big industry names took to social media to express heartfelt sympathy…
