There have been many kinds of different troubles that rappers have faced over the years, and if it’s not for their lyrics, it has to do with their personal lives. Child support has become a tough situation for some selective rappers with children, and many have gotten caught up with the law. One hip hop star in particular was arrested for not paying child support this week, and we decided to take a look back at those who have dealt with the same struggle.
Not only was Rakim flustered after being arrested for not paying child support, but he didn’t even know about the son he was being arrested in regards to. The legendary MC was arrested after a paternity warrant was issued back in 2001, but ended up paying $2,000 to pay off the finances owed.
DJ Whoo Kid
DJ Whoo Kid was recently arrested outside of his SiriusXM show in New York City after he missed a family court date. The hip hop DJ and host was released shortly after from custody after he proved to a judge that he had been on time with all of his child support payments.
Dark Man X was arrested after he failed to pay child support worth up to $10,000 a month. He had been ordered to pay ex-wife Tashera Simmons for the support of his four children, and was arrested on a contempt of court charge in July 2014.
