G-Eazy has now been released from custody, feeling grateful and relieved to put one of his worst nights behind him. The Oakland rapper was arrested on Friday after an altercation escalated to a full out brawl. His girlfriend Halsey, wo was also present at the nightclub, may have been hit. G-Eazy allegedly struck security guards and was found with the possession of cocaine landing him in the back of a cop car.

Gerarld Gillum, his birth name, took to Instagram to break his silence about the events that occured. “Happy to be in Copenhagen tonight doing what I love most. Embarrassed and apologetic beyond words about the incident, but above all I’m so fucking grateful they let me go, craziest experience of my life, awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I’m grateful as fuck to be a free man, back on tour performing for the fans. Thank you to everyone who’s held me down along the way and supported this journey.”

G-Eazy was shown mercy receiving no jail time; however, he was sentenced 2 year probation and close to $10k in charges. He merely escaped the pattern of incarceration amongst the rapper community. Other hip hop artists have been sentenced with far less allegations against them. He has struggled with drug use and heated disputes in the past but hopes to move forward in a better direction. His girlfriend, Halsey, was also present and may have been hit in the incident.

Now released, he is moving on with his tour and music career. He ended his statement to fans, “Thank you to everyone who’s held me down along the way and supported this journey, I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.”
