Tidal boasts co-ownership from many of today’s biggest stars in music, and has an influential hold on hip hop culture thanks to involvement from successful powerhouses such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, & J. Supposedly, Drake had agreed to buy in to the company before “mysteriously” backing out of his agreement up until two days before the celebrity-heavy mega launch. Industry insiders suggest Beats By Dre’s Jimmy Iovine went directly after artists who were considering joining Tidal as owners and Drizzy was one of the stars he approached. In additional Drake news, another rumor is the rapper has been offered $19M to guest DJ for Apple Radio. Stay tuned for more information on the developing story.
