Following the success of N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton biopic, it looks like another movie is taking off where the last left off. Rumors have been circulating about a Death Row biopic, and Daz Dillinger has all but confirmed the rumor. The Dogg Pound rapper took to his Instagram to share behind the scenes shots of the filming of Dogg Pound 4 Life.
Considering Straight Outta Compton‘s success, Dogg Pound 4 Life has big shoes to fill. So far, it appears the project is going through production with out any major Hollywood backing or music clearance. With that said, the opportunity for another hip-hop biopic is definitely still interesting and full of potential.
Check out the cast below.
Azad Arnaud will be playing Daz Dillinger, Dr. Dre’s son Curtis will be playing his father, Reggie Noble will play Suge Knight, The Lady of Rage will be playing herself, DaDa will play Tupac, and Melvin Jackson Jr. from The Wire will play Kurupt.
Some of these actors have a striking resemblance to their respective characters. The footage stems from the crew filming the studio session when Tupac records “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” in the same day.
