There’s no question that the West Coast remains infatuated with the legacy of Tupac Shakur. With today marking his 45th birthday, the City of Oakland paid homage to the late rapper the best way possible. Let’s just say, Tupac will always be remembered by not just the city of Oakland, but by the world.

In 1991, Tupac started his career with Oakland-based group Digital Underground. The Mayor of Oakland paid homage to Tupac and his contributions to the city.

“Although Tupac was born in Harlem, New York City, in 1971, later lived in Baltimore, Maryland, and in Marin City, California, he cherished his time in Oakland as his home, stating that he got his ‘Game’ from Oakland. Tupac once said: ‘…I give all my love to Oakland, if I’ma claim somewhere I’ma claim Oakland.’”

In addition to that, the long-awaited trailer finally is out. With the movie directed by Benny Boom and Demetrius Shipp playing the role of Tupac, fans will be elated to know that the trailer will give you goosebumps.
