OutKast is arguably the most legendary duo in hip-hop history. The Atlanta collective, composed of both Andre 3000 and Big Boi, broke down barriers for the South in hip- hop in the 90s. Thanks to their classic catalog and consistently reinventing their unique sound, the ATLiens have definitely earned a right among the greatest to ever do it.
Many believed the two would release a new album again, especially considering they spent much of 2014 touring together and headlining festival after festival. Unfortunately for hip-hop, no new music dropped from the duo despite the amount of time they spent on the road.
It looks Andre 3000 and Big Boi might have something else in store for fans that might suffice for a new album, depending on who you ask.
Big Boi recently participated in a Reddit AMA with Phantogram for promotion of their upcoming EP Big Grams. Fresh off of Straight Outta Compton‘s success, it appears Big Boi and Andre 3000 have discussed doing an OutKast biopic!
When asked by a fan, Big Boi responded:
“Me and ‘Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay tuned.”
We’re hoping the duo does drop a biopic for fans to learn about their success and cultural influence in the near future and hopefully we can get some new music in the process.
