The 2000’s ushered in a new wave of producers that were willing and ready to compete with the star-laden class from the 90’s. Some producers like Kanye West and Swizz Beatz trumped many notable producers in the 90’s because of their new sounds. Swizz Beatz was instrumental in the careers of DMX and the Ruff Ryders when he first dived into the game. He also provided beats for the likes of Drake (“Fancy”), Jay Z (“Onto the Next One), T.I., ( “Bring Em’ Out”), Jadakiss (“Who’s Real”), and more.

It’s hard to debunk the legendary resume of Dr. Dre. The highly touted producer conquered the 90’s and did the same in the 2000’s by working with the likes of JAY Z (“The Watcher”), Kendrick Lamar (“The Recipe”), Eminem, (“The Real Slim Shady”) to Snoop Dogg’s (“Imagine”) and even self-producing his number one album, Compton.
